Help Center
How can we help you protect your products and customers today?
Welcome to the Verifex Help Center. This page answers the most common questions from consumers, brand owners, and partners about how our product verification and anti-counterfeiting platform works.
1. For Consumers – Verifying Your Product
1.1 How do I verify that my product is genuine?
- Look for the Verifex QR code and scratch or security label on your product packaging.
- Scratch gently (if covered) to reveal the verification code.
- Open your smartphone camera or a QR scanner app and scan the QR code.
- Your browser will open a verification page on www.verifexglobal.com for the brand.
- The page will show:
- Product image (for genuine codes)
- Brand information
- Exact time and approximate location of the scan
- A clear message stating if the product is genuine, repeated, or invalid/suspected fake.
If you see any warning or "invalid/fake" message, do not use the product and follow the reporting steps below.
1.2 What do the different results mean?
Genuine – first scan
- The code is valid and has not been used before.
- You will see the product image, brand details, and the time and location of this first verification.
Genuine – code used before
- The product image and brand details still appear.
- You will see a warning that this code has been scanned previously, along with the first scan time and the total number of scans.
- If you did not scan it before, treat this as suspicious and contact the brand via the page.
Invalid / Fake code
- The product image is not displayed.
- The page explains that the code is invalid or not recognized in our system.
- You will see a "Report this product to the brand" button to share details with the brand owner.
1.3 How do I report a suspicious or fake product?
If your scan result shows that a product is invalid or suspected fake:
- Click the "Report this product to the brand" button on the result page.
- Fill in the form with as much detail as possible:
- Where and when you bought the product
- Seller name or online marketplace link and consumer mobile number
- Photos of the product, packaging, and receipt (if available)
- Any additional comments
- Submit the report.
Your report goes directly to the brand's team through Verifex Global so they can investigate and, if necessary, work with law enforcement or regulatory bodies.
1.4 Can I verify products from any country?
Yes. Verifex is web-based and QR-code driven, not SMS-based. As long as you have a smartphone with a camera, an internet connection, and access to the Verifex verification page, you can verify products from anywhere in the world within seconds.
2. For Brands – Getting Started
2.1 What is Verifex?
Verifex Security Services Ltd provides a platform for:
- Generating secure, unique QR/serial codes for your products
- Allowing consumers to verify authenticity in real time
- Detecting counterfeit patterns through scan analytics and alerts
- Supporting enforcement and brand protection actions
2.2 How do we onboard our brand?
Brand onboarding is handled by the Verifex admin team. Typical steps:
- Contact us: Reach out via the contact form or email on www.verifexglobal.com to request a consultation.
- Scoping and agreement: We discuss your products, volumes, target markets, and security requirements. Both parties sign a service agreement covering scope and responsibilities.
- Brand profile setup: Verifex configures your brand space: logo, colors, messaging, website and social links. Your branded verification page is created.
- Product and variant configuration: Together we define SKUs, sizes, variants, and markets that need protection.
- Secure code generation: Verifex generates secure, unique verification codes in bulk and maps them to your products. You receive controlled exports/label files for printing and packaging, while the codes remain registered in the system.
- Go live and monitoring: As products enter the market, verification events appear on your dashboard. You start receiving analytics and automated alerts for suspicious activity.
2.3 What analytics and alerts do we get?
Your admin dashboard can include:
- Total scans and unique codes scanned
- Breakdown of genuine, reused, and invalid/fake scans
- Maps or tables showing where scans occur
- Top products and batches by scan volume
- Alerts when the same code is scanned multiple times from different locations, or unusual spikes in fake or repeated scans appear in a region
You can export data for reporting, investigations, and internal analysis.
2.4 How does Verifex help with enforcement?
Verifex provides:
- Time-stamped, location-linked scan histories for each code
- Consumer reports containing purchase details and photos
- Aggregated views to spot hotspots and suspect sellers
These can be shared with internal legal teams, external counsel, regulatory bodies, or law-enforcement agencies to support enforcement actions.
3. Security and Data Protection
3.1 How does Verifex protect our data?
Verifex Global uses:
- Encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS)
- Secure server-side code generation and storage
- Role-based access for admin and brand users
- Logging and monitoring of key actions and system health
We focus on collecting only the data needed to authenticate products, detect counterfeits, and provide analytics, and we handle personal data in line with our Privacy Policy.
3.2 What data is stored when someone scans a code?
For each scan, we typically store:
- The verification code
- Result (genuine, repeated, fake)
- Time and approximate location (IP-based and, if allowed, device location)
- Technical details (e.g., browser, device type)
If a consumer submits a counterfeit report, we also store the information they choose to provide (e.g., purchase details, photos). This data is used only for brand protection, analytics, and compliance purposes.
4. Troubleshooting Common Issues
4.1 The QR code does not scan – what should I do?
- Ensure there is good lighting and the code is not damaged or partially covered.
- Clean the camera lens and hold the phone steady.
- If your default camera app doesn't detect the QR, try using a QR scanner app.
If problems persist, contact the brand's customer care or Verifex support with product photos.
4.2 I scanned a code and got a network error
- Check your internet connection (Wi-Fi or mobile data).
- Try reloading the page or scanning again.
- If the issue continues, try again later or from a different network.
If the problem continues over time, please contact us with the brand name, approximate time, and your country.
4.3 The page says the code was already used, but I never scanned it before
It may mean:
- You purchased a product someone else previously checked, or
- The code has been copied (counterfeit).
Check:
- The first scan time shown on the page
- The number of times the code has been scanned
- Whether the seller or channel seems trustworthy
If you suspect the product is not genuine, use the "Report this product" option or contact the brand directly and keep the item and receipt as evidence.
